Twinkle Twinkle Little Star As-Live


Today we had to edit the footage of the chorus of our song we had filmed last week into an As-Live video. We worked on our own to prove that we could edit videos individually and to prepare us for next years coursework when we create the whole music video by ourselves. This is how mine turned out.

Analysing an As-Live Video

Kings and Queens - 30 Seconds to Mars


Before anyone starts playing their instruments or singing, all of the people in the video are filmed so the audiences knows who will be featured in the video.

More or less the entire first verse is filmed with a single shot that slightly zooms in of the lead singer singing.

There are a few cross-dissolves used throughout the video to add a nice effect and to keep the audience interested.

There are some children that add backing vocals to the song and they are also filmed throughout the video along with their conductor, mainly when they are singing.

Analysing a Narrative Video

Love is a Battlefield - Pat Benatar



The narrative story is about a woman who runs away from home and becomes a prostitute. At the end, her and the other prostitute's rebel to the owner of the prostitution club and have a 'dance-off' with him in order to claim their freedom.

Even as a narrative video, the singer still lip syncs to the video.

There are clips that cut back to her previous life back at her old home such as when she send a letter to her brother.

The start of the video and the end are the same scene of the singer on a bus, thinking about her life and what has happened throughout the middle section of the video.

Rewriting my Verse

I was assigned to rewrite the lyrics to this verse of the original song:

Ideas

I'm in a group doing a music video for the song 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' and these are some ideas our group came up with:

.Change the lyrics to the song apart from the chorus.
.Change the meaning of the star to a celebrity in order to create a more contemporary song about what is happening now as celebrities are very big.
.Rap some parts of the song and/or use a techno beat.
